The curriculum of the Kindergarten has been designed in a way that the teacher student interaction is more, and students are active participants, they learn by exploring, experimenting and experiencing.
The students of classes I-III are taught English, Tamil, Mathematics and E.V.S.(Environmental Studies) and the students of classes IV-V are taught Social Science in place of E.V.S. Computer Literacy Program has been adapted for all the Primary classes.
The students of classes VI-VII learn at least one extra language in addition to Tamil and English.
The following are the subjects of study in this School for Classes IX and X:
The school will conduct periodic tests and exams as scheduled and attendance is compulsory in all of them. If a holiday is declared on the scheduled Test/Examination day the same will be conducted after the last of the Test/ Examination.
The school does not burden the young minds with pressure of examinations. Day to day progress is the criterion for assessing the performance of the child. A process of continuous comprehensive evaluation is followed and a feedback is provided regularly to the parents.
The following criteria will be the basis of continual internal assessment: Classroom observations, field work, scrap book work, nature study walks, monthly projects, skill oriented works, assignments etc.
To reduce the stress and anxiety which often builds up during and after the examination, a process of continuous and comprehensive evaluation is followed and feed back is provided regularly to parents. For the purpose of the CCE, the academic year has been divided into two terms. The first term will be from June-September and the Second Term from October-March.
The CCE is intended to provide holistic profile of the learner through evaluation of both scholastic and co-scholastic areas spread over the two terms.
Each term will have two formative assessments and one summative assessment for evaluation of scholastic areas.
The school does not restrict the formative assessment to only a paper-pen test. There are other means of testing such as assignments, projects, practical, oral testing. Promotion is based on continuous comprehensive evaluation (CCE) throughout the year. No child will be detained if he / she has 75% attendance, and shows satisfactory progress in language and number work. If the child’s progress is not satisfactory, the parent will have to give an undertaking that satisfactory progress will be ensured in the next class.
